"Do you think we might go somewhere a bit more private?"

He really didn't need any more urging that that. They were in a hotel, after all, and it wasn't very hard to find a room with an unlocked door, an unrumpled bed. Kicking the door shut behind them, Irwin tugged Dakin back in against him, kissing him harder, hungrier, deeper than before.

Those words did the trick. He was perfect. He was exactly what Irwin wanted. He was doing this right. He'd waited for so long to hear him say that, for Irwin to acknowledge him, for his approbation, that now that he had it he'd do nearly anything to keep it.

Dakin kept that slower pace, determined to keep him satisfied even if he would have rather kept going as he was before. He wanted to hear him praise him again.

Dakin smiled at that, pleased with himself, but nowhere near as smug as he usually was when he did something worthy of note. He loved the way that Irwin responded, he loved knowing that he was the one causing it, he loved the praise. But it was getting fucking difficult. He didn't want to let Irwin down, but, at the same time, he really just wanted to come.

"Close," he got out, sounding strained

God, he needed to hear that, though Dakin (if he'd been in any position to be doing much thinking) would've hated to think he needed permission. But he came almost as soon as Irwin said that, groaning as he went for another kiss.

"Christ," he said finally, leaning against Irwin, not willing to leave him just yet. He was entirely too comfortable and satisfied. "Christ, that was good."

Dakin made pleased, lazy noise of his own in return. He shifted against Irwin, not really wanting to leave or lose contact, but wanting to give him more space.

Dakin let his hand be gripped and guided, not about to try to be difficult now. He felt too satisfied for even some momentary cruelness.
